(As-Swaffaath) 37 : 146
وَأَنْبَتْنَا عَلَيْهِ شَجَرَةً مِنْ يَقْطِينٍ
And We caused to grow upon him a tree of creeping plant.
Yoonus was tired and fatigued, so the Lord produced a fruit-bearing tree, which provided plenty of food and water—possibly a watermelon—to grow for him. The creeping plant also provided shade, which is why it is described as a “tree of creeping plant.”
